When Carrie Underwood hit the stage at last night’s Super Bowl to belt out the National Anthem, we were as focused on her wardrobe as her hitting the high notes. The newly-engaged star continued her streak of choosing all-white — hey, she has a wedding on her mind! — by pairing a Rock & Republic jacket with PRVCY Premium skinny white jeans and a matching platform pumps. While the blonde beauty certainly stood out, her totally color-coordinated outfit raised a few fashionistas’ eyebrows. We want to know what you think! Vote in our poll below.

More details have emerged about Carrie Underwood’s gorgeous engagement ring. The sizeable center stone, first spotted when Underwood flashed her ring while cheering on fiancé Mike Fisher and the rest of his Ottawa Senators teammates at their Monday night game, is actually a flawless yellow diamond, designed for her by jeweler Johnathon Arndt, who said in a release, “This ring is a symbol of love from Mike Fisher to Carrie Underwood,” as he wished the couple congratulations. This isn’t the first time the American Idol alum has worn Arndt’s baubles: back in 2007 at the Country Music Awards, the 26 year-old performed her hit “So Small” in a diaphanous canary yellow chiffon gown bedecked with the jeweler’s twin imperial jadeite and diamond butterfly pins worth a staggering six million dollars! Carrie Underwood certainly has a lot to smile about this holiday season. The newly engaged 26 year-old country singer turned up at her fiancé Ottawa Senators hockey player Mike Fisher’s game last night flashing some major sparkle on her left hand. A spokesperson from the Diamond Information Center estimates the brilliant round diamond comes in at whopping five-plus carats, with an estimated value of close to $150,000. Whew! Underwood, who famously declared her affection for her beau in the liner notes of her recent album, Play On (“I love you so much!” she wrote. “You make my life better in every way! I thank God for you every day.”), accepted Fisher’s proposal on Sunday, following a year-long courtship. -Emily Hsieh

Ever wonder if stars think about their onstage costumes differently than their red carpet fashion? Carrie Underwood certainly does. “I feel like I can wear anything when I’m onstage,” the December cover girl tells Lucky. And that doesn’t just include clothes. Carrie admits, “I love playing around with makeup–it’s trial and error, mostly error.” So where does this fearless fashion philosophy come from? Perhaps from Carrie’s country style icon Dolly Parton. “I would never attempt to pull off Dolly’s wardrobe, but her confidence is enviable. She always makes it work!” But she does like to bring her love of country into her wardrobe, explaining “I like pairing cowboy boots with unexpected things, like cute dresses. You can be ‘country’ and still be stylish–I would wear them regardless of what kind of music I sang.” And while Carrie loves the glitz and the glam onstage, “in my downtime, nothing beats a great pair of sweats.” Her sweats of choice? “Sweatpants from Victoria’s Secret Pink are my main closet staple–they’re affordable, and they make nine-hour bus rides bearable.” To read more on Carrie’s fashion philosophy and shop her wardrobe must-haves, pick up the December issue of Lucky, on newsstands November 4, and visit luckymag.com.
