It seems like everyone has something to say about the facial hair that has taken over the faces of two of PEOPLE’s Sexiest Men Alive. Brad Pitt’s beard has been growing through the winter, while his pal George Clooney kicked off award season with the new look. Eli Roth, who appears with Pitt in Inglourious Basterds, thinks his co-star’s beard is amazing. “That’s like a professional beard,” said Roth at the Critics’ Choice Awards in Hollywood Friday night. “Only Brad can pull off a beard like that.” Meanwhile, Melanie Lynskey, who appears with Clooney in Up In The Air, says she hadn’t seen his new beard but wanted to check it out. “He’s not going to look bad,” she tells PEOPLE. “He could bleach his hair blonde and he wouldn’t look bad!” Another guy whose looks can’t be diminished by facial hair is Jon Hamm, according to Mad Men creator Matt Weiner. “He can get rid of it and grow it again in an afternoon,” Weiner joked about Hamm, who plays the dapper Don Draper. “I told him that he looks like GI Joe, which is quite a compliment. There’s nothing you can do to make that guy look bad, let me tell you.” Vote now on which leading man wears his facial hair best! – Elaine Aradillas

Johnny Depp appears smiling, tattooed, and bare-chested on the cover of February’s GQ, and even unclothed, makes the magazine’s list of the 25 most stylish men in the world for 2010. In the accompanying article, Barney’s creative director Simon Doonan sums up why, explaining, “Johnny Depp’s a unicorn—a really glamorous, one-of-a-kind eccentric. He wears great man jewelry. He doesn’t shy away from color. He’s always peeking through his amazing hair. It doesn’t matter if Johnny Depp’s lying in a ditch—he’s always going to look incredible.” Despite their completely divergent aesthetics, fellow Brits Robert Pattinson, Russell Brand, and David Beckham all share the style honors, along with Brad Pitt, Jay-Z and Clint Eastwood, who received a special accolade as “Hall of Famer.” The February issue of GQ hits newsstands nationwide on January 26, but in the meantime, head to gq.com for more and vote for your pick for most stylish guy. When Brad Pitt first grew in his now infamous goatee, we thought surely it was for a part — or just a personal quirk. But with Hollywood’s hottest hunks sporting everything from Robert Downey Jr.’s neatly trimmed goatee to George Clooney’s silver scruff to Jon Hamm’s full-out beard, we can see now that Brad was really starting a trend! Clearly this crop of stars is so good-looking that even the worst facial hair couldn’t dim their appeal, but we worry for lesser men if this trend continues. Let’s be honest, who doesn’t want to just see these guys in all of their clean-shaven glory? Or maybe that’s just our taste. Tell us: Should these guys keep their beards or do you prefer them clean-shaven?

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have put their creative minds to something new — elegant serpent-themed jewelry! The power couple has teamed with a top British jeweler Asprey to come up with a series of designs for everything from earrings, pendants, bangles, rings to a silver spoon and egg cup. And, like so much of their life away from the cameras, the collection will benefit others. All the net proceeds will go to the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict, to which the couple has already donated $1 million via the Jolie-Pitt Foundation in June 2008. For Jolie, 34, the inspiration for the collection was an obvious one. While she was expecting Shiloh in 2006, she was given a special gift — a protective snake ring. It was seen as a protector for mother and unborn child, and Jolie has come to view the motif as something of a family guardian. “Since then she has seen the snake symbol as a protective talisman for her family,” a source at Asprey tells PEOPLE. The series started out as something for children — 16-month-old Vivienne has already been photographed wearing bangles with the snake motifs– but has developed into the limited edition “Protector Collection” of high end jewelry and other luxuries, which does still include children’s items like a tooth box and silver egg cup. The collection becomes available tomorrow, November 17. –Simon Perry

Brad Pitt’s new beard may remind some of MythBusters star Jamie Hyneman, but we couldn’t help but be reminded of another hot hunk who’s recently embraced his hairy side — David Beckham! The soccer player has been showing off an awfully scruffy face lately, just as Pitt grows his goatee into a full beard. We think these are two men who can do no wrong, but whose beard is hotter? Vote now!
