After announcing the addition of a denim collection to her ever-expanding fashion range, Jessica Simpson is already working on her next project: watches! “Collecting watches, both vintage and new, has been a hobby of mine for some time so adding watches to the collection was a natural extension,” Jessica explains. The blonde bombshell, along with the Camuto Group, the company that holds all the licenses to the Jessica Simpson Collection brand, have tapped jeweler-to-the-stars Pascal Mouawad –the same designer who collaborated with Nicole Richie on her House of Harlow 1960 collection — to develop the new series of timepieces. Set to hit stores this fall, Jessica and Pascal’s watch collection will include 35 designs that reflect the star’s personal style, varying from classic, handsome leather styles to elaborate jewelry-inspired looks. The watches will retail from $60-$250 and will be available in department stores and at jessicasimpsoncollection.com. Though Lisa Loeb rose to fame as a singer, she’s probably just as well known for her eyeglasses. Loeb is finally cashing in on her signature look, partnering with Classique Eyewear on a line of frames called “The LL Collection.” “People have been asking me about my eyewear style for years. Finally I decided – why not design my own line – so other people can see the world like I do,” she says. The new series includes streamlined pieces in black and tortoiseshell, as well as embellished options punctuated with rhinestones and etchings. “I worked with Classique Eyewear to design a line that represents the look I love: one that can be worn from day into night, that’s classic but stylish, that frames the face and lifts the eyes, but doesn’t speak before you have a chance to,” she declares. The star goes on to describe her aesthetic: “My eyewear generally has a cat-eyed look. Think sexy librarian, not retro grandma,” and says that her new collection was created largely for “women with style,” but that “some frames are more unisex and could look cute on stylish men, too!” Each item is named after one of her songs, and will be available for purchase in spring of next year. Chopard Jewelry as featured in the new major motion picture Nine, starring Kate Hudson, courtesy of Chopard
Chopard has long adorned Hollywood’s leading ladies with its spectacular jewels and watches, and now the Swiss jeweler will light up the big screen in the movie, Nine, starring an A-list cast including Kate Hudson, Nicole Kidman, Penélope Cruz and more. “After meeting with Colleen Atwood, the Academy Award-winning costume designer working on Nine, I immediately understood the need for a very personalized look for each of these very different roles,” said Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele in a release. “Colleen explained her stylistic inspiration for each of the women and together, we created a very special Haute Joaillerie collection, tailor-made to reflect the style and personality of each character.” Nine is based on the original 1982 Tony Award-winning Broadway production, which is based on the iconic Fellini film 8 1/2. Added Harvey Weinstein about his company’s film, “We were looking for a jewelry brand to work with our costume designer Colleen Atwood, and I knew Chopard would work seamlessly.” Nine opens in theaters nationwide on December 25.

While Lady Gaga may be known for her totally over-the-top creations these days, she tells PEOPLE that her new Heartbeats jewel-inspired headphones were actually inspired by her favorite jackets she wore growing up. “I wore studded leather jackets, me and my friends in New York,” Gaga said, at a launch event Monday for the headphones at Best Buy in LA. But of course, there are larger issues at play for the pop provocateur as well. “Lifestyle, grit, passion and love for music, freedom. These were the things I thought about when we were designing [the headphones]. So they really reflect a headphone that I just think is really great looking and represents who I am.” The Heartbeats by Lady Gaga headphones are part of the Beats by Dr. Dre headphone collection from Monster, and will be sold at Best Buy’s new Club Beats department. You can also buy them at Amazon for about $100. –reporting by Jessica Wedemeyer

As if her singing career doesn’t keep her busy enough, Alicia Keys is taking on jewelry design. The 12-time Grammy award-winning R&B singer is teaming up with The Barber’s Daughters designer Gisele Theriault for a collection of necklaces due out in fall 2010. Alicia first met Gisele while she was touring in Toronto through her bandmates, who happened to be buying the jewelry backstage at her show. “I fell in love with the individuality of the pieces, but more than that, the words that were written on them really resonated with the songwriter in me,” Alicia tells WWD about Gisele’s pieces, which are inscribed with poetry and prayers. “I knew at that moment, for the first time, that through a whole other medium I would be able to spread inspiration, and that’s what got me started.” Alicia’s collection of necklaces for The Barber’s Daughters will range in price from $85 to $2,500 and feature precious metals and gems inscribed with inspirational messages. And while the collection won’t be available until next year, New Yorkers will get a first look and chance to purchase her baubles next week during a two-day preview at a temporary shop at Collette Blanchard Gallery at 26 Clinton Street. Alicia’s jewelry has already gotten some celebrity love from Halle Berry, who purchased a one-of-a-kind piece for $40,000 at a charity auction! Tell us: Will you buy Alicia Keys’s jewelry?

Lady Gaga may have gotten the internet buzzing with her over-the-top high fashion picks, from Alexander McQueen to Agent Provocateur, in her new video “Bad Romance,” but we’re the most interested in her new accessory that she debuted in the high-concept clip — her very own Heartbeats by Lady Gaga headphones. The high-tech fashion headphones are the newest addition to the Beats by Dr. Dre headphone collection from Monster. Gaga, who oversaw the design of the jewel-inspired in-ear headphones, explained the driving force behind the launch. “In the deepest hour of the night, I confess to myself three things; I would die if I was forbidden to write, forbidden to love, or forbidden to fashion,” she said, in a release. “Heartbeats embody the trinity of my human being, with one additional vow: that sound matters.” The high-performance headphones were designed to look as good as they sound–playing double-duty as a fashion accessory. Heartbeats are available in three styles: metal with a rose red jewel-shaped earpiece, metal with a chrome jewel-shaped earpiece and black-on-black body and jewel-shaped earpiece. Jimmy Choo Founder and President Tamara Mellon stepped out in London last night to host the global launch party of the brand’s ‘Project PEP’. The limited edition collection with its rock ‘n’ roll, punk-inspired print will raise funds for the Simelela Rape Centre in Cape Town, a project started by Mellon and the Elton John Aids Foundation in 2005. “When you buy one of these products here tonight, it will release the PEP medication straight to the women in Africa,” Mellon told PEOPLE as she greeted guests such as Guy Ritchie and bikini designer, Melissa Odabash, who was modeling the sky high gladiator ‘PEP Loop’ heels. Jimmy Choo will donate 25% of the net sales from this capsule collection to fund the pioneering centre where rape victims exposed to HIV are given anti-retroviral drugs to stop the virus developing. “I went to South Africa earlier this year, and I’m planning another trip in 2010,” said Mellon, adding “It was emotional but it was also an uplifting experience to see that this really does make a difference, it takes the shame away from these women.” So how does the multi-tasking Mellon, who has a H&M collaboration launching next month and a perfume in the works, juggle all of this with charity work and bringing up her 7-year-old daughter Araminta: “I don’t know!” she laughs, “I do enjoy several coffees in the morning, that tends to keep me going.” The collection is available worldwide from 4th November or buy online at jimmychoo.com.
